Best Hamburgers in Toronto
In recent years, all sorts of "handcrafted” burger joints have sprung up in Toronto. Some of them feature unusual meats such as elk; others have price tags of more than $30! Still others contain exotic ingredients with difficult-to-pronounce names. (I don't know about you, but when I order a burger, I don't expect it to arrive accompanied by "raclette” or "lepinje.”)
The alternative to these chi-chi joints would appear to be the old standbys like the big brand burger places. But if you're as tired of those choices as I am and searching for a delicious bar and grill burger that's well-made without being pretentious or overpriced, it's worth looking at up-and-coming 100% proudly Canadian eateries.
A Burger For Everyone
There are a few newer franchise companies that serve great burgers – one with several franchise locations in Toronto.
These neigbourhood bar and grills feature a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, a high level of service, and, of course, quality food.
For example, my favourite bar and grill offers a selection of burgers that's perfect for a night out with friends. The restaurant's beef burgers are made from 100 per cent Angus beef. They're topped with fresh lettuce, sweet red onion, tomato and dill pickles, and served with your choice of Signature Fries, Onion Chips, Sweet Potato Fries, Coleslaw, Baked Beans, or House Salad. (Or, for a little extra, you can treat yourself to a side of their Famous Poutine.) There are three basic beef burgers:
The Angus Burger. Grilled
Canadian Angus burger served with all the fixings and our signature golden
fries. Need we say more?
Bacon Cheese Burger. As if
our Angus burger wasn’t enough, we’ve topped it with smoked bacon, Velveeta cheese
and all the fixings. Served with our signature golden fries. C’mon…you deserve
Black Bean Veggie Burger. Our
vegetarian burger is grilled and topped with all the fixings and served with
our signature golden fries.
This particular restaurant lets you customize your burger by adding gourmet toppings at value prices. Choose from such additions as:
- Extra sauce
- Crispy onion straws
- Onion rings
- Sautéed mushrooms
- Creamy Tequila Coleslaw
- Shredded beef
- Smoked bacon
- Cheddar cheese
And for those looking for a less conventional burger, a delicious Garlic Dill Chicken Burger which features a breaded boneless chicken breast dipped in hot sauce and served with cheddar, bacon, onion straws, and Famous Garlic Dill Sauce.
The franchise also makes an amazing Vegetarian Burger, a must in Toronto!
Don't Forget Wings and Ribs!
Some of these restaurants offer much more than just burgers including their wings
and ribs, plus a variety of sandwiches, salads, soups, and starters. Some are dine-in only, others boast dine-in or take-out,
and some offer special deals on particular nights of the week.
Next time you're craving burgers, don't spend a fortune, and don't eat the same-old-same-old, either. Try one of Toronto's up-and-coming 100% proudly Canadian bar and grill franchises, and discover a new favourite burger!
